A Special Place in My Heart
The memories of church camp have such a special place in my heart. It was at Camp Tahkodah that I learned so many songs that touch my heart as I lift them in praise to God. I still have chills pour over my body when I sit around a camp fire and sing with the youth. It was at Brentwood Hills Church Camp (BHCC) that I baptized my little sister in the creek because my parents were out of town and unable to be there. It was also at BHCC that I was challenged to give my first devotional talk. It was the wonderful memories of being a counselor at camp over the years that led me to find a full-time job in camping in Mills River, NC. Most importantly it was standing on Tahkodah Bluff overlooking Camp Tahkodah where I asked Shawna to be my wife.
You see the memories of church camp had a huge impact on the path I chose in this life. For many here at the Hendersonville church of Christ Palmetto Bible Camp is where many of those memories are being made each summer. I want to thank people like Danny Baddeley, Floyd Grindstaff, and the Godley family for the countless hours they spend each year helping make PBC a place where children, teens and adults all grow closer to our loving savior, Jesus Christ. Also thank you to all those volunteers that gave up a Saturday to help PBC get ready for another unforgettable summer.
