A Call To Persevere
Do you look at your calendar and think, “how am I ever going to get to all of these appointments?”. Or maybe you pull out your day planner for work and think there’s no way I'm going to be able to complete all the tasks that I have scheduled. Or maybe as a parent you think about all the struggles that come with raising your children. All of these examples have challenges that sometimes may have you asking yourself, “why do you keep on doing all of these things?” Or “why don't I just throw in the towel and say enough already”.
Well if your like me you need to get to your appointments because you've made a commitment to the people that you've made appointments with. If your like me you need to finish your work assignments because you have financial responsibilities to both your family and to the people who have loaned you money on your house or cars. And last but not least if your like me you look at your kids and realize at the end of the day that their pretty good kids and have done a lot to make you proud of.
God realized that it would not be easy to live the life of a Christian and that there would be a lot of challenges to overcome. He tells us in his word that we would be referred to as aliens if we live in accordance to his word. But he encourages us in his word to not throw in the towel but to remain committed to doing his will. And to hold true to his promises. In Hebrews 10:24-25, He tells us how important it is to lift each other up. Starting in verse 24, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
We all must learn to live each day to be accountable to those we interact with as we live out our lives on this earth. But it's even more important that we live up to God’s standards and to do his will so that we may obtain the greatest reward Eternal Salvation.
In Christian Love,
