Adventurous and Serving Hearts
The Lord blessed our Snow Skiing adventure with safety, fun, and frozen faces. Last Friday night the slopes at Wolf Ridge were amazingly un-crowded. I am not sure why there weren’t more snowboard enthusiasts out on a night like we had, with prime conditions of 50 to 60 mile an hour wind gusts and a sub zero wind chill. The best part was skiing through the clouds of manmade snow as it froze instantly to your face. Honestly, we did have a blast and I am pretty sure that we have several guys that would be willing to go for it again. Though the skiing was worth all the effort, it did make for a late arrival at Palmetto Bible Camp which required large amounts of Mountain Dew along the way. We were thankful when our heads hit the pillow around 1 a.m.
Saturday morning began early with a hot breakfast, once again prepared by Kenny and Debbie Jones. We were blessed to work hard all day along side fifty other adults and teens from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. There were four or five chainsaws running at all times creating plenty of work for the brush hauling and burning crews. God blessed us all with a wonderful and exhausting sense of accomplishment. It was wonderful to know that our labor was not in vain but to help PBC continue to create life long memories and changed lives for Christ.
I would like to close by commending our teenagers for their hard work. Floyd Grindstaff and Duncan Blake said that they had never seen a group of teenagers work so hard with such great attitudes. We thank all those who were able to attend for a job well done. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
