Africa Mission Camp Coming Soon
As we gear up for the summer events, (Honduras, West Memphis Kid’s Camp, and much much more), I want to make everyone aware of an event some have heard rumblings about. On June 14th we will be conducting a simulated mission experience with this year’s theme being Africa. Teenagers from Tennessee, Ohio, North Carolina, and hopefully more will live in authentic Mud Huts, and learn from former missionaries about topics like Cross Cultural missions, worldview, language learning, religions of Africa, and mission strategies that work.
Mission campers will experience the hardships of living in mud huts and cooking their meals over a fire. They will learn how important appropriate technology like drip irrigation and efficient mud stoves can be when teamed with the message of Jesus Christ. The Camp is open to any teenagers ages 13-19 that have a desire to teach others about Christ. We have been very blessed this past week to have 13 hard working Tennesseans from Madison Street Church of Christ in Clarksville here to help us build Mud Huts. I want to especially thank Frank Bunner, former missionary in Togo, Africa, and now campus minister employed by the Madison Street congregation, for organizing this group to come help prepare for Mission Camp. Our Goal is to empower Christian Teenagers to become local and foreign missionaries, SOONER, STRONGER, BETTER, LONGER. If you would like to know more about Mission Camp please come by to talk with me as soon as possible.
