Men Behind the Scenes
When you look at the local church you often see the ministers as the focal point and the elders as those who lead. One group that I feel we don't see or hear from enough is our
deacons. In 1 Timothy 3:8-9 it says "Deacons, likewise are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing of dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience." When I look at the men that this church has been blessed with, I see a group dedicated to serving their brothers and sisters like God has laid out in his word. Here is a list of our deacons and the ministries that they oversee. Floyd Grindstaff who has served over 25 years over facilities. Rod Price transportation, Frank Edney youth, Mark LaFever worship, Blaine Bice communication, Don Yelton benevolence, Sam Williams missions, Tom Bullard fellowship, Andy Newberry education, Mike Walls small groups, Bill McKelvey local evangelism, Wes Davis outreach. The elders would like to say “thank you,” to these men and their wives and families who show a great commitment and love for this church. We should all strive to match their serving attitude. If you would like to get involved in any of these ministries please contact one of the deacons and I'm sure they will put you to work.
