Pray for Honduras

What do you do when all your plans for months and months drastically change? What do you do when you many others have invested many hours and dollars into a week of service to the Lord in a foreign land? You pray! We have been asking God to protect the Honduran people, to protect the Mission Lazarus Team, and to give Jarrod Brown and his fellow missionaries wisdom as they respond to these difficult circumstances. At this time we are not sure what this means for our group’s plans to go to Honduras, but we do plan to go—only God knows when. The rest of this article is the email we received from Honduras. I thought it would be appropriate to share with everyone since we are all involved in this mission.

Going to the mission field is always a step of faith. There are always uncertainties, dangers, and we are always challenged to lean on God. With the current political situation, now more than ever, the uncertainties abound. There are dangers that we are not aware of and as a guy who is being looked to for decisions and guidance I am being challenged to lean on God even more.

It's with much disappointment that I am writing you all to request that we post-pone your scheduled trip for this weekend. However I do not want to cancel it!! We just need to let things calm down a bit. Satan will NOT win this one. The Lord's church will be blessed and Christ will prevail as he always does when we lean on him!

We have spent so much time getting ready, buying materials and pouring foundations but it will not be in vain. We'll continue to show God's love daily to the people that we are here to serve. We ask that you all please continue to pray for our team of Missionaries as well as the local men and women we serve alongside. We'll keep you posted as the situation evolves.
