We’re on the Way
Which way are you going? Have you ever had someone ask you that? It’s kind of frustrating when you don’t know and assuring when you do. These days, there are many ways to find where you are going. There are maps, road signs, GPS units, computer generated printouts, and even landmarks (my favorite).
What about your life? Do you know where you are going? Hopefully, you know where you are headed, but what about the here and now? We hope that the church is more than a stop along your weekly route. We hope that the church provides you with direction through biblical teaching, inspired worship, relational caring, and unconditional love.
We encourage you to not simply drive through but to stay a while with us. We need all of you to keep us going. Every church body gets lost along the way and has some curves and bumps to navigate through, but we are well on our way. Is the cross the center point of your life? Have you died to self so that you can rise again in “newness of life.”
Let’s follow the example of Paul in 1st Corinthians 16 when he loved the church enough to say this “6 Perhaps I will stay with you for a while, or even spend the winter, so that you can help me on my journey, wherever I go. 7 For I do not want to see you now and make only a passing visit; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.” We are all headed somewhere. Let’s be the church and get there together. —Rob Fraser
