Our vision is for our congregation to be actively involved in reaching out within the community to serve those in need, from within our building and out in the community, serving humbly and teaching joy fully for the glory of our Father. We do this through our personal contacts with others each day and through group efforts, in humble service to those in need and in sharing God’s Word. Our ministry supports the congregation’s mission to love God supremely, serve others unselfishly, know Christ intimately, and honor His Word faithfully as we make Him known in a spirit of unity.
As individual Christians and as a church family, we have long demonstrated a spirit of service to others, bringing praise and honor to our Father. In our Wednesday night classes this past year we focused on looking inward, a self assessment to God’s call for us to be “a light unto the world” in the way we live each day —honoring Him through service to others and developing those personal encounters to share His Word. We also looked at some community service organizations as ways to reach out and serve others with the skills, knowledge, and gifts that God has given us. We had representatives from several organizations (Rescue Mission, Inter Faith Ministries, Children & Family Resource Center, and Four Seasons Hospice) come to tell us of their services to those in need and how we, each in our own way, might serve others and so glorify our Father.
Many actions are initiated and supported across our ministries, all seeking to reach out, serve, teach , and glorify our Father: Ugly Quilts have provided much needed warmth; Blood Drives meet life-saving needs; Harvest Sunday provides groceries for the hungry ; Children’s Home support ensures nurturing; Palmetto Bible Camp provides spiritual development; Magi Boxes, numerous teen projects, meals for shut-ins, Dave Ramsey Finance seminars, Family Focus series, and Trunk or Treat provide us opportunities to invite friends and neighbors and develop those relationships.
We are an active, serving congregation and we continue to explore new ways to help those in need — physically and spiritually. The opportunities are there for us all to share what we have: our time, our knowledge, our possessions, and our faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us know what you are doing or how you desire to help!
