Every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening we gather together to study God’s word in small Bible classes. What a gift the Bible is to us, a reminder of God’s power and grace, of His son’s sacrifice and the stories of the lives of the men and women who have lived before us. Our classes are designed to
cover the entire Bible for all age groups, to allow us to know the word and to be able to better understand God’s will in our lives.
Our pre-school through grade 5 classes each have a lead teacher who is responsible for the teachers and material for their classes each week. We are blessed to have had Colleen Rivers as lead teacher over cradle roll for many years. Debra Williams will be the new lead teacher for this class, Jana Conner in the 18 mo–3 year olds, Becky Newberry in the 4–kindergarten, Megan and David Shaffer in the 1st–2nd grade, Eric Bullard in the 3rd-5th grades and Vicki Audia coordinating all of these classes. Our teen classes are under the guidance of our youth minister and Frank Edney.
The adult Bible classes have been both Old Testament and New Testament survey classes, along with several interesting topical classes. The survey classes are designed to cover every book of the Bible over a three-year period and the topical classes are for us to apply that material in specific areas of our lives. Karen Fitzpatrick, Connie McElrath, Chari Price and Becky Newberry have led the ladies classes. Tom Ledbetter, Bill McKelvey, Fred Gore, Mike Walls, Bill Sink, Sam Williams, Tim Godley, Frank Edney, Steve Teel, Tom Bullard, Andy Newberry, Wes Davis and each of our elders are teachers of these classes. Many other men and women teach classes each quarter and we are thankful to each of you for your wonderful service for our children. We are fortunate to have so many talented men and women to teach our classes so please take a moment after your class to thank them each week.
Please consider being a part of our Bible class program both as a student and teacher. You will find that teaching is a wonderful way to learn the Bible and to encourage others in their Christian walk. You do not need to be a Bible expert or have been a member for 10 years. Each of our teachers would welcome you to come co-teach with them, to see what they do and to experience our children and adults learning more about our God and Lord. Deut. 4:10 –“Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.”
