The Fellowship Ministry was begun some 25 years ago as a means to plan for and provide congregational events to build and maintain unity and a sense of belonging for our members. The ministry also provides an important function through the use of service teams who plan for and provide bridal and baby showers as well as food for families at the death of a family member. Our guidelines for service teams are bridal showers for first marriages, and baby showers for first babies born in Hendersonville.
Service teams also coordinate, set up and staff the periodic church lunches and suppers. Presently there are approximately 70 members (male and female) involved with the service teams. The Fellowship Ministry has an operating budget of some $3,000 a year, the majority of which is spent on paper goods and kitchen supplies. Additionally, the service team leader is authorized to spend up to $50 per event from the Fellowship budget for showers (cakes/decorations) and $50 for food items for funerals.
At this time this ministry is looking for additional members to serve on the Service Teams since we are down to 6 teams. Please contact Naomi Bullard if you are willing to be assigned to one of the teams.
