Our youth continue to amaze us. They are involved in ministry projects both within our congregation and with other congregations. An example of their efforts includes, most recently, the Christmas party for our children. Additionally, they have supported the West Memphis congregation by sponsoring a week-long summer program for their children. The example set by our youth spread to our adults who recently returned from West Memphis where they completed some construction work for the congregation.
We are entering into a new season with our youth ministry with the hiring of our new youth and family minister, Rob Fraser. He brings a wealth of experience to us and also brings a kind and talented wife, Kylea. Their faith in God has already been revealed to us in the way they are dealing with his recent accident. Families have already been drawn to the Frasers by way of visits, cards, emails, texts, food, etc.
A couple of weeks ago, Rob enthusiastically presented to the parents and youth a vast list of ideas for classes and projects. He will work to increase the Bible knowledge of our children as well as their desire to know and serve the Lord. While we are elated to have the Frasers join us to work with our youth, and continue to be encouraged by the support given by our church family to our youth, the primary responsibility for our children’s relationship with God rests with the parents. Is assembling with other Christians a priority for your children? Are you planning your calendar around church and youth activities? Now, as we enter into a new phase in our youth program, is a wonderful time to renew your commitment to our youth program. Parents, we need your support. And, if you do not have children or your children are grown, we need your prayers and mentorship for our children. Our goal is for all of the youth in the Hendersonville Church of Christ to have a sincere relationship with their Savior. As the psalmist wrote in Psalm 71:5, “For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.”
